Bedecked in monsoon glory, Gujarat’s hill station awaits visitors with a range of fun-filled activities during the month-long festival
Saputara, August 4: It’s that time of the year when the monsoon weaves its magic across the country and makes every place look beautiful. The state of Gujarat too is all decked up in the glory of monsoon and is awaiting tourists to enjoy the season to the fullest. Gujarat is also readying for another spectacle that mesmerizes visitors each year – the Saputara Monsoon Festival which will be held this year from August 4 to September 3.
Gujarat tourism organizes the Saputara Monsoon Festival every year to give tourists a glimpse into the beautiful monsoon in Gujarat’s scenic hill town. This year too, continuing the tradition, the festival will entertain visitors to enjoy nature with an array of eclectic activities including exhibitions, adventure activities, cultural programmes, food festival, interactive games, competitions, flash mobs and much more.
The festival aims to endorse Saputara as a tranquil hill station and make tourists from in and around Gujarat cherish their memories with its natural lure. Each year, the festival draws a large number of tourists thanks to its varied activities and attractions.
This year, Saputara Monsoon Festival will bring many exciting activities starting from the inaugural day with functions like parades and the special performance by artists on “Ek Bharat Shreshth Bharat”. Each evening will witness culture programmes and interactive games. In addition to this, Gujarat Tourism has also planned other fun-filled activities like trekking, tribal dance shows by locals, light and sound show, photo corners, musical orchestra party, stand-up comedy acts, day and such other entertaining events each evening. Apart from this, the other attractions include paragliding, boating etc.
Each year, the festival is organized by Gujarat Tourism in order to encourage tourism, promote Saputara as a hill resort destination and create awareness about its many natural and cultural attractions. The Tourism Department makes accommodation arrangements for tourists by providing comfortable rooms and dormitories.
The Saputara Monsoon Festival will be followed by other prominent celebrations like the Tarnetar Fair in Surendranagar district, Navratri Festival and the Runn of Kutch festival later during the year
